It's Not a Puppy: 2013

Where to begin??

Ok, here's the scoop. Ron left for Afghanistan on 19 April for a four month stint. Here is what we have been doing at home to distract ourselves from being distraught over his being gone.

We added a member to our family.... meet Delaney!

We got Delaney a week before Ron left. She's a fawn Great Dane. She weighed about 20 lbs when we got her, and at 14 weeks she weighed 45. She's already as tall as her big brother. She has definitely been a challenge for mama, and when Ron gets back she will be taking some major puppy classes! All in all though, she is a great puppy with a wonderful disposition... I think Javier may even like her a bit.

Mama took training for a new fitness class cert, CX Worx!

In May, GiGi and grandpa took Kensy for the weekend and Kyle dogsat so that mom could go to Richmond for CX Worx training... an awesome core class that Les Mills has put together. Will hear about whether or not I passed in a month or so and will keep you posted!

Abby got married!

Donny and Teresa were so, so kind and kept Kensy so that I could attend the wedding of a college girlfriend, Abigail Gardner, now Abigail Morden! It was an awesome time. All of the E2R (for those who don't know, that was our first year dorm and hall, Echols 2nd Right) girls came stag (other than Caleb... we loved having him there!), and we just had an amazing reunion!

Signed up for the Rock'n'Roll 1/2 Marathon in VA Beach!

Kensy has been helping me train for a race in September. Let me tell you... that stroller adds some kick to a run! She is so wonderful on runs though! Hand her some water, snacks and a paci and we are off!

Running is exhausting :)

Auntie Alexandra is having a wee one!

Tracy, Kate and I (but mostly Kate and Tracy) threw Alexandra a baby shower for Baby Parker who will arrive in July! It was such a blast! Can't wait to meet that sweet boy!
